Israeli military say they are not firing on Al Shifa Hospital
The Israeli military has said that they are not firing on Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza on Saturday, but that there are clashes around the hospital, an official said.
The Israeli army official said that people can still leave the hospital safely.
However, doctors in the hospital told Middle East Eye that bombing has been ongoing since 9 November, and ceilings in the hospital have collapsed as a result. Eyewitnesses also said that the women’s and maternity ward were bombed.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF)have repeatedly called for Israeli attacks on Al Shifa Hospital to stop.
Earlier today, they issued a statement saying: “MSF teams and hundreds of patients are still inside Al-Shifa hospital. MSF urgently reiterates its calls to stop the attacks against hospitals, for an immediate ceasefire and for the protection of medical facilities, medical staff and patients.”
