Netanyahu and Lapid willing to form emergency government

Israel's opposition leader, Yair Lapid, says that he is willing to form an emergency government with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in light of the attacks from Hamas earlier today.

"In the current state of emergency, I am right to put aside differences, to establish with him a professional, limited emergency government, which will oversee the difficult, complex and protracted campaign which lies before us," he said.

"Netanyahu knows that with the extreme and dysfunctional composition of the current cabinet, it is impossible to wage war."

Lapid said that he has no doubt that the former Defense Minister Benny Gantz would also join such a government.
