Poll: Majority of Palestinians want long-term truce

A poll the results of which were published today shows that the vast majority of Palestinians would support a long-term ceasefire deal, reports Jordanian daily al-Ghad.

The poll, run between 14-19 August, asked 1,000 Palestinians their opinions on a variety of subjects.

87.6 percent said they would support a long-term ceasefire, while 93.2 percent would oppose demilitarisation of the Gaza Strip.

81.4 percent of those questioned want to open a case against Israel for possible war crimes at the International Criminal Court.
