70 people were killed as Israeli forces bombarded the town of Rafah on Gaza's border with Egypt. The attacks injured over 100 people.
As of two hours ago, the death toll among Gazans had reached 1,650, with more than 8,900 injured according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
Hamas says it is not aware of the whereabouts of a missing soldier, saying it believes he may have been killed in fighting an hour before the ceasefire began.
Hamas publicly blames Israel for breaking the 72-hour truce, alleging that Israeli troops mobilised and entered the city of Rafah at 06:30 local time. Their statement stresses that Hamas is willling to abide by a truce as long as Israel holds its end of the bargain.
