UAE urges restraint, while Kuwait blames Israel for attack on Palestinians
International reactions have continued to pour in since the early hours of this morning.
Kuwait blamed Israel for the attack on the besieged Gaza Strip and expressed "grave concerns" over the situation unfolding in Gaza and Israel.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has normalised relations with Israel, urged restraint between the two sides.
The UAE's official news agency said: “[Abu Dhabi] calls for the exercise of maximum restraint and an immediate ceasefire to avoid serious repercussions."
Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit also called for an "immediate halt to military operations in Gaza" and "the cycle of armed confrontation between the two sides".
"Israel's continued implementation of violent and extremist policies is a time-bomb depriving the region of any serious opportunity for stability in the foreseeable future."
