US sends envoy to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has raised concerns over the escalating situation in Jerusalem and Gaza.
In a statement, Blinken said he would be sending Hady Amr, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State to the region immediately, in order to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
“The United States remains committed to a two-state solution. This violence takes us further away from that goal. We fully support Israel’s legitimate right to defend itself,” the statement read.
