US: ‘We don’t know how many hostages are alive’

In a press briefing on the Gaza war, US national security advisor Jake Sullivan said: "I cannot look you in the eye and tell you how many of those hostages are still alive."
Among the 239 hostages being held in Gaza, there are also nine Americans.
