The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said that large scale Israeli raids across the occupied West Bank that began in January in Jenin have caused the "largest population displacement since the 1967 war".
The agency estimated that the raids have displaced 40,000 people so far.
UNRWA said in its weekly situation report on the occupied territory that “Coercive conditions, threats of demolition, and evacuation orders drove further displacement from these already near-empty camps".
“Israeli Forces continued to deploy militarised tactics and advanced weaponry, including the use of tanks," the agency said, adding that the Israeli authorities have suggested that they intend to continue the campaign “for the foreseeable future, including preventing residents from returning to the camps".

The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said in a post on X that the US will be "revoking the visas and/or green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can be deported".
Rubio's comments came after AP reported that US immigration agents detained a Palestinian graduate student who helped lead last year's pro-Palestine student encampment at Columbia University.
The Student Workers of Columbia union said in a statement that Mahmoud Khalil was arrested at his university accommodation on Saturday. His wife, who is 8 months pregnant, is a US citizen, while Khalil holds a permanent residency green card.

Gaza residents are reporting facing food shortages in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan.
The renewed Israeli blockade on aid entering the strip has left residents grappling with food insecurity as prices on essentials triple.
"Last time we received aid, it was just a bag of flour and that bag is not enough. For those who have children, it is not enough to feed them. We need more aid than that". Khan Younis resident, Bushra Abu Akar told AP.
"There is no money, there is nothing".

Far-right former Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has applauded the government's move to cut power to Gaza.
“I welcome the power cut to Gaza and the sector must be plunged into complete darkness immediately as long as there are still Israeli captives,” Ben-Gvir said, adding that Israel should "bomb the massive fuel storage that entered the sector as part of the miserable [ceasefire] deal.”
Ben-Gvir, who resigned from his cabinet position in January over the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, has repeatedly called for Israel to resume its attacks on Gaza and to cut aid supplies to the enclave.
Footage circulated on social media by Palestinian journalists shows an Israeli tank opening fire in Wadi Burqin, west of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
According to Al Jazeera, Israeli forces had been conducting a raid on the town, firing tear gas at civilians.
We reported earlier that Israel's Energy Minister has announced he has issued orders to sever electricity supplies to Gaza, amid Israel's ongoing aid blockade on the territory.
According to the UN, Gaza has long faced a “chronic electricity deficit”, impacting essential services, particularly the territory's water supply.
The only power line into Gaza supplies the territory's main desalination plant, which serves over 600,000 people. Palestinians in the territory have relied on solar panels and fuel generators for their electricity.
The power line was severed after 7 October 2023, and reconnected in July 2024- however, the plant could not function fully until December that year as it had been so badly damaged by Israeli attacks.
