Israel will allow the gradual and controlled entry of goods to Gaza through local merchants, Cogat, the Israeli military agency that coordinates aid, said on Tuesday.

"This aims to increase the volume of aid entering the Gaza Strip, while reducing reliance on aid collection by the UN and international organisations," the agency said.

Israeli attacks have killed at least 11 people in Gaza since dawn today, Al Jazeera Arabic reported, citing the hospitals in the Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leaning toward seizing the entirety of Gaza, Israel's Channel 12 cited an official from his office as saying on Monday. Netanyahu will be convening his cabinet on Tuesday to make a decision on the matter.

- More than 54 percent of Gaza’s 60,199 dead are children, women or elderly, the Gaza Media Office revealed.

- At least 18 former leaders of Israel’s intelligence and security apparatus, including ex-chiefs of Mossad, Shin Bet, the military and police, have jointly urged the government to halt its war on Gaza.

- The Addameer Foundation, a Palestinian NGO, says at least 54 Palestinians are unaccounted for near aid control centres operated by the so called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a US-Israeli backed group that has been condemned for killing Palestinians seeking aid.

- The family of a 10-year-old boy nicknamed Amir who was killed whilst trying to receive aid at a GHF site have yet to receive his body, more than two months after he went missing and a week after a US whistleblower said he saw Israeli forces shoot him dead.

The Gaza Civil Defence on Monday said it had transported to hospital nine people who were forcibly displaced to al-Mawasi, after they complained of ailments resembling food poisoning.

The civil defence said this is likely attributed to canned food donations that are expired, not temperature-controlled, or even potentially tampered with.

Four of those taken to hospital are children.

In a recorded video message broadcast by Al Jazeera Arabic on Monday, Hamas senior representative Osama Hamdan called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to issue firm and binding resolutions to rein in Israel and end the war on Gaza.

"What is required is that the UN Security Council issue clear and binding resolutions to the occupation to stop the war of extermination, including massacres, violations, starvation and destruction of civilian life in the Gaza Strip, and to oblige the occupation to withdraw, open the crossings for humanitarian aid, and stop its violations against [Palestinian] prisoners in Israeli prisons," Hamdan said.

His statement comes as the UNSC holds a special session on Monday on the conditions of Israeli captives in Gaza, following an appeal by Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon.

Hamdan's video also follows images broadcast by the Hamas military wing, the Qassam Brigades, over the weekend, showing Israeli captives looking emaciated. The images caused outrage in Israel.

"The world has witnessed the humane treatment received by the enemy prisoners of the resistance since 7 October 2023 through the duration of their captivity," Hamdan said. "The resistance has always made it clear that the enemy prisoners eat what our besieged and hungry people eat, and they drink from what [our people] drink".

Reiterating the statement made by Qassam spokesperson Abu Obeida on Sunday, Hamdan said Hamas is ready to work with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to bring in food and medicine to the Israeli captives it is holding in Gaza, in a bid to "force the occupation to open the humanitarian corridors in a normal and permanent manner for the passage of food and medicine to all our people".

"Breaking the siege, opening all the crossings immediately, and bringing food, water and medicine urgently to the entire Gaza Strip will end the humanitarian catastrophe" and leave no need for the scandal-plagued, US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), Hamdan said.

US states and cities that boycott Israeli companies will be denied federal aid for natural disaster preparedness, the Trump administration has announced, tying routine federal funding to its political stance.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency stated in grant notices posted on Friday that states must follow its "terms and conditions". Those conditions require they certify they will not sever “commercial relations specifically with Israeli companies” to qualify for funding.

The requirement applies to at least $1.9bn that states rely on to cover search-and-rescue equipment, emergency manager salaries and backup power systems, among other expenses, according to 11 agency grant notices reviewed by Reuters.

The requirement is the Trump administration's latest effort to use federal funding to promote its views on Israel.

The family of a 10-year-old boy who was killed whilst trying to receive aid at the controversial Israeli- and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) have yet to receive his body, more than two months after he went missing and a week after a US whistleblower said he saw Israeli forces shoot him dead.

Last week, retired US army soldier Anthony Aguilar, who worked as a security subcontractor at the GHF, said he saw Israeli forces kill Abdulrahim 'Amir' al-Jarabe'a on 28 May, whilst he was manning a GHF aid distribution point in southern Gaza.

"This young boy, Amir, walked up to me, barefoot and wearing tattered clothes that hung off his emaciated body," Aguilar told the UnXeptable podcast.

US Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna's effort to gather support for recognising a Palestinian state is now being supported by 13 House Democrats, as of Monday.

In a letter to President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mark Rubio, which was obtained by both the Jewish Insider and Axios last week, the Democratic lawmakers have urged the government to follow in the footsteps of 147 countries that have already recognised a Palestinian state, saying the US should not “be isolated from the rest of the free world”.

Axios reported on Monday that the number of lawmakers who had signed the letter had grown to 13.

The government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voted unanimously on Monday to fire attorney general Gali Baharav-Miara, who is prosecuting him in a corruption case involving bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

The Supreme Court of Israel immediately blocked the decision, and Baharav-Miara will keep her job until an appeals process concludes.

The Canadian Armed Forces, using a CC-130J Hercules aircraft, carried out an air drop of more than 21,000 lbs of aid into Gaza on Monday, Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced.

"Canada is taking these exceptional measures with our international partners as access to humanitarian aid in Gaza is severely restricted and humanitarian needs have reached an unprecedented level," Anand said in her statement.

"Despite the scale of need, humanitarian partners face severe challenges in delivering life-saving food and medical assistance by land due to ongoing restrictions imposed by the Israeli government. This obstruction of aid is a violation of international humanitarian law and must end immediately," she added.

Last week Anand announced new funding of $21.77m USD (30m CAD) towards the humanitarian needs of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, including support to logistical operations along the Jordanian corridor; support to the United Nations and Red Cross to scale up aid deliveries into Gaza; and the input of Canadian-funded humanitarian supplies into the Gaza supply line, with help from Jordan.

An additional $7.26m (10m CAD) was provided to the World Bank "to support the Palestinian Authority’s role in stabilising and governing the West Bank," Global Affairs Canada said.
