A new report from The New York Times states that Israeli officials had obtained Hamas’s battle plan for the 7 October attack more than a year before it happened, but dismissed the plan because they believed Hamas did not have the capabilities to pull it off.

The newspaper reported that Israeli officials had obtained a 40-page document that Israel named "Jericho Wall". The document, seen by The New York Times, details the attack plan carried out by Hamas and Palestinian armed groups with precise details.

The document did not set a date for the attack, but did include "details about the location and size of Israeli military forces, communication hubs and other sensitive information".

The newspaper said it could not determine whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saw the document.

MEE could not independently verify the reported document.

"Every day, they (Israeli forces) abuse and hit us. Just a while ago, someone died," said Darweish, who is from Bethlehem.
