UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has urged all parties to maintain the ceasefire, saying “the ceasefire must hold and humanitarian aid must get through to those in need”.

“We call upon all parties to uphold President Trump’s peace plan to avoid any further bloodshed,” she added.

Her statement comes after Israel launched new strikes on Gaza that killed dozens of Palestinians, claiming the assault was in response to a Hamas operation that allegedly left two Israeli soldiers dead — an accusation Hamas has denied.

A Palestinian government office says Israeli forces have carried out 80 ceasefire violations since October 10, killing 97 people and wounding 230 more.

In a statement on Telegram, it condemned what it called “flagrant and clear violations of the ceasefire decision and the rules of international humanitarian law”.

It said the attacks were recorded “across all governorates of Gaza without exception”.

Gaza’s civil defence and hospital sources report that Israeli air raids across the territory have killed at least 45 people on Sunday.

Medical sources in Gaza report that Israeli air raids on multiple locations across the territory have killed at least 42 Palestinians since this morning.

Hamas says some of the 150 Palestinian bodies returned by Israel show evidence of torture, calling it “a war crime against humanity.”

On Telegram, the group said: “Some of them were handcuffed and blindfolded, while others bore signs of being strangled or crushed under the occupation’s chains, confirming that the occupation executed them while they were prisoners.”

Hamas said the identities of most of the bodies remain unknown and called for DNA testing to identify them. The group also said it requires “heavy equipment to remove the rubble under which thousands of bodies remain buried.”

“What happened constitutes a full-fledged war crime and a crime against humanity that requires international accountability and responsibility,” it added.

The Gaza Health Ministry earlier confirmed that 25 of the returned bodies have been identified, with some showing signs of “torture” and “beatings.”

Medical sources in Gaza told Al Jazeera Arabic that Israeli air strikes on multiple areas across the territory have killed at least 35 people since this morning.

The Israeli military said two soldiers were killed in southern Gaza on Sunday.

A reserve soldier was seriously wounded in the same incident and has been taken to hospital for treatment, according to an army statement.

Gaza’s civil defence says Israeli air attacks across the territory have killed at least 33 people, revising an earlier death toll of 21.

The Israeli army claimed that it attacked “dozens of Hamas positions” across the Gaza Strip, although this could not be independently verified.

Both sides have traded accusations of breaching the nine-day ceasefire brokered by US President Donald Trump.

Al-Awda Hospital says six Palestinians have been killed after Israeli forces bombed a tent sheltering displaced people in the Abu Salim area west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man in Nablus on Sunday before dragging his body through the streets, while settlers assaulted olive pickers elsewhere in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 42-year-old Majed Mohammad Dawoud was killed during a raid on al-Ain refugee camp in Nablus in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Witnesses said Dawoud was left bleeding in the street as Israeli forces prevented medical teams from treating him.

Ghassan Hamdan, director of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society in Nablus, said Israeli soldiers stripped Dawoud of his clothes and dragged his body along the road as he bled to death.

Medical crews were later able to retrieve his body and transfer it to Rafidia hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Israel’s Channel 12 reports that the political leadership has accepted a military recommendation to suspend aid deliveries into the Gaza Strip until further notice.

A security official confirmed the decision speaking to AFP, which will further tighten the blockade on a population already facing catastrophic humanitarian conditions under Israeli siege.

United States officials said they are making efforts to prevent a collapse in the Gaza truce deal. 

This follows Israel's latest round of violations in the blockaded strip as it launched a series of deadly attacks across the territory after it alleged that Hamas had breached the agreement. 

Axios reported that US envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have spoken to Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and asked Israel to "respond proportionately but show restraint."

Israel's Channel 12 reported that the army bombed around 100 targets in Gaza since Sunday morning, according to Al Jazeera. 

The wave of air strikes on the besieged enclave comes after Israel alleged that Hamas breached the ceasefire agreement. 

The armed wing of the Palestinian group, Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, has denied any knowledge of or connection to the alleged attack, which Israel said took place in an area under its control.
