The death toll from Israeli attacks on the Yemeni city of Sanaa on Sunday has risen to 10 people, with another 92 wounded, the country's health ministry reported on Monday.

“This crime adds to the serious and criminal record of the Zionist enemy and to the systematic violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces against civilians and civilian objects in our Arab and Islamic nation,” the ministry said in a statement.

“These attacks constitute war crimes, as they directly targeted civilians and caused casualties, in addition to the destruction of civilian facilities unrelated to military objectives."

The Foreign Press Association (FPA) has demanded an "immediate explanation" for the deadly Israeli attack on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis on Monday.

Palestinian health officials said at least 20 people had been killed in the strike, including five journalists, two of whom worked for the Middle East Eye.

In a statement the FPA said the attack "came with no warning" and hit an exterior staircase of the hospital "where journalists frequently stationed themselves with their cameras".

“We call on Israel once and for all to halt its abhorrent practice of targeting journalists,” the statement read.

“This must be a watershed moment. We appeal to international leaders: do everything you can to protect our colleagues. We cannot do it ourselves.”

A Palestinian detainee has succumbed to his wounds after being shot by Israeli forces near the centre of Hebron in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, Wafa news agency is reporting.

Musab Al-Eida (20) was shot by Israeli forces stationed at the military checkpoint in Tel Rumeida on Thursday. He was then detained while he was wounded.

His detention at Ofer prison was extended on Sunday, despite his condition.

Palestinian prisoner advocacy groups, the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported that Al-Eida was pronounced dead at Israel’s Shaare Zedek Hospital.

In a joint statement, the groups denounced the killing as an "attempted field execution".

The UN Special Rapporteur for Palestine Francesca Albanese will take part in a tribunal to determine the extent of the UK's complicity in the genocide in Gaza.

Organised by former Labour party leader and now independent MP Jeremy Corbyn, the two-day unofficial event will feature surviving Palestinian victims of Israeli atrocities, as well as experts in international law.

Albanese's involvement was confirmed by Corbyn during an appearance by the veteran politician at a fringe event at the Edinburgh festival on Saturday.

The UN special rapporteur will be asked for comment on the use of RAF bases in Cyprus to help Israel's military.

The Israeli army has warned the government that implementing its demands to demolish all of Gaza City could take several months, potentially more than a year, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.

Earlier this month, the Israeli government approved a plan to seize control of Gaza City, and destroy it both above and below ground.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz on Friday warned that Gaza City "will become Rafah and Beit Hanoun" if Hamas doesn't surrender, referring to the two cities that have been almost completely wiped out by the Israeli military.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday urged Islamic nations to work toward suspending Israel from participating in United Nations General Assembly meetings and activities.

Speaking at an emergency summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Fidan said that Palestinians needed collective action to end Israel's genocide in Gaza and settler violence in the occupied West Bank.

“This meeting will focus on three urgent tasks: halting the war, forging a united response of the Islamic Ummah, and mobilising the international community,” he said.

Fidan stressed that Israel’s “genocidal aggression” continues in Gaza, where half a million people face catastrophic hunger, adding that the UN has now officially declared famine in the territory.

He noted that Hamas has already accepted a ceasefire plan proposed by Qatar and Egypt, yet the Israeli government “still seeks the erasure of Palestine”.

Israeli air strikes targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis on Monday, killing 14 Palestinians, including several journalists and a rescue worker.

The first strike hit the upper floor of the hospital, which was one of the largest medical facilities in Gaza prior to the war.

A second strike targeted the rescue team responding to the casualties from the initial bombing.

Four journalists were killed in the attack, including Mohamed Salama, a contributor to Middle East Eye who had produced numerous video reports since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza in October 2023.

His most recent exclusive report exposed that the body of a 10-year-old boy- killed while trying to receive aid at the controversial Israeli- and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) - had yet to be recovered. Salama also worked with Al Jazeera.
