Live: Six more Palestinians die of famine as Israel blocks Gaza aid
Live Updates
Israeli forces have killed at least 78 Palestinians in attacks across Gaza since dawn, Al Jazeera is reporting, citing medical sources.
Of that figure, 20 were aid seekers and 42 were killed in Gaza City.
Hamas has called for immediate UN intervention after Israel conducted two massacres, killing 21 people.
The group said in a statement that an Israeli drone attack on people queueing for water in Mawasi, near southern Gaza's Khan Younis, killed 11 people, including seven children.
Meanwhile, another attack on the Daraj neighbourhood of eastern Gaza City killed 10 members of the al-Af family, "most of them women and children", according to Hamas.
Wafa news agency reported earlier that 11 Palestinians from the al-Af family were killed in an Israeli attack on their home.
Hamas said in a statement that the attacks "expose the criminal fascist nature of the enemy" and that they "constitute war crimes under international law", requiring "immediate intervention by the UN Security Council to impose an end to this brutal genocide and hold those responsible accountable".
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned Washington's move to refuse visas to Palestinian officials, including President Mahmoud Abbas, barring them from attending the UN General Assembly this month.
A number of countries are set to recognise Palestinian statehood at the assembly, which will be held in New York on 9 September.
Erdogan told reporters that the decision "does not fit the United Nations' raison d'etre" and that it needs to be "urgently revised".
"The United Nations General Assembly exists for the issues of the world to be discussed and for solutions to be found," he added.

Habib Qeshta and his wife Nour were overjoyed recently to learn they were expecting a baby boy.
Already parents to a daughter born before the Israeli genocide in Gaza, the Palestinian couple had hoped a son might bring some light to their dark days under relentless bombardment.
“We were overjoyed to learn it was a boy,” said Qeshta, 27, speaking to Middle East Eye.
But their joy was shortlived.
“A week later, my wife began experiencing unusual pain. She sensed something was wrong, so we went for another check-up,” he recalled.
“That’s when the doctor told us the foetus had died due to malnutrition.”
Nour had carried the pregnancy for four months under heavy Israeli air strikes near their home.
For months, she barely ate any nutritious meals, due to the ongoing Israeli-imposed famine in Gaza.
“All we have are canned beans, duqqa (local spices usually eaten with bread), and thyme. Sometimes we don’t even have bread,” Qeshta said.
“For a pregnant woman, this can’t be considered nutrition.”
Since Israel imposed a total closure of Gaza’s borders on 2 March, nearly two million people in the besieged enclave have entered a new and devastating phase of the war. Wheat flour has become a luxury item, and hundreds have died from hunger and malnutrition.
Although the borders were partially reopened for some goods and international aid, most residents remain unable to access food, either due to soaring prices, looting of aid trucks and the dangers of reaching hazardous aid distribution points.

French President Emmanuel Macron has said that he is working "in close coordination with the King of Jordan in preparation for the Conference on the Two-State Solution, to be held in New York on September 22."
Macron wrote on X that both leaders "oppose any plan for the reconstruction of Gaza that would involve the forced displacement" of Palestinians.
"Such a proposal, contrary to international law, would lead only to a dead end," he said.
The French president also called for a lasting ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
In July, French President Emmanuel Macron had said France would recognise a Palestinian state at the UN meeting, which is going to be held from 9 September in New York.
More than a dozen other western countries have since called on others to do the same.

Thirteen people in Gaza have been killed by starvation, Gaza’s health ministry has said. The number includes three children who have died “due to famine and malnutrition”.
The current figures bring the toll of hunger-related deaths to 361, which includes 130 children.
The ministry added that 83 of those deaths, including the deaths of 15 children, had occurred since a global hunger monitor officially announced famine in Gaza on 22 August.

Israeli forces have abducted the mayor of Hebron, Tayseer Abu Sneineh, during a raid on the city in the occupied West Bank, and taken him to an unknown location, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office (ASRA) has said.
Israeli forces stormed the mayor’s home in Hebron, ransacking its contents, before taking him to an unknown location, Wafa news agency has reported.
Wafa quoted security and local sources who said that the Israeli military also set up checkpoints around the Hebron governorate and closed a number of roads with iron gates and cement blocks.
“This brutal attack does not only target the mayor himself, but also targets the will of the people of Hebron and its elected institutions," ASRA cited Hebron’s Municipal Council as saying.

US President Donald Trump has said Israel, which once was the "strongest lobby in Congress", does not hold the same influence anymore.
"The war in Gaza is hurting Israel, especially in Congress," Trump said in an Oval Office interview with the Daily Caller.
“Israel was the strongest lobby I’ve ever seen. They had total control over Congress, and now they don’t, you know,” Trump said.
“There’s no question about it. [Israel] may be winning the war, but they’re not winning the world of public relations,” he added.
Trump’s comments come as public opinion in the US shows growing criticism of Israel. A new survey has revealed a sharp generational split in United States attitudes towards Israel’s war on Gaza, with younger voters showing unprecedented support for Hamas as Israel carries out a genocide.
The poll, conducted by The Harris Poll and HarrisX between 20 and 21 August among 2,025 registered voters, asked respondents: “In the Israel-Hamas conflict, do you support more Israel or more Hamas?”
Sixty percent of voters aged 18–24 expressed greater support for Hamas.
