LIVE BLOG: Egypt's #Nov28 Islamist protests
- The Salafist Front has called for protests to “restore the Islamic identity" and "establish Sharia law” in the country since 31 October
- Other groups are expected to take part including the Salafist al-Watan and al-Asala parties; the Jamaa Islamiyya; Islamic Jihad; the Muslim Brotherhood and student activist groups.
- Army forces began deploying on Thursday at 'vital' locations across the country, according to a statement by the Defense Ministry.
- Minister of interior Mohamed Ibrahim said that any attack on police, armed forces or state facilities will be considered a crime, giving authorities the right to use live ammunition.

Egyptian security forces have reportedly shut down 895 social media pages calling for the Friday protests, reported al-Shorouk Newspapers.
341 people running the pages have reportedly been arrested.
The Salafist Front had called on its female supporters to stay at home during protests on Friday due to fears they will be attacked by the security forces.
"Our directive to our sisters and our daughters is to form revolutionary morale guidance groups online in order to combat the lies spread in the media," said a statement posted on its official Facebook page.
It called on women to cheer the protests from their balconies and document the event.
A few protesters have reportedly started an anti-Islamist demonstration in Tahrir Square.
Tweets coming out of Egypt show protesters marching down the streets of several Egyptian cities.
The Salafist Front announced through its twitter page that a protester in Matariya, Cairo has been shot dead.
There is not further information yet about the incident.
The Salafist Front has released a statement announcing the points of departure for the protests after Friday prayers.
The statement calls on protesters to convene at Cairo's main mosques and to carry a copy of the Quran in one hand.
An Egyptian soldier has reportedly been killed and a conscript injured in a shooting by unidentified men in Qalubiya, north of Cairo.

Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said that security forces will beef up their measures around police establishments and other government buildings as well as metro and railway stations.
Police forces have reportedly arrested ten people from the northern Beheira and the southern Assiut provinces for possessing flyers and posters promoting the protests.
A security source told the Anadolu Agency, that police forces arrested 63 people, some of which are Muslim Brotherhood members, from their homes and workplaces within the past two days alone.
