Israeli soldiers posted video clips on social media of them assaulting and insulting a young Palestinian man after arresting him from his bed and dragging him away at gunpoint.

The clips, filmed on cameras attached to the soldiers' uniforms, also show the blindfolded and handcuffed detainee on his knees with some of the soldiers standing around him.

The soldiers are all wearing balaclavas and one of them is holding an Israeli flag.

Omar Abdullah, from the occupied West Bank town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, recognised his son Salah, 20, through these videos, and confirmed that he was severely beaten during his arrest.

Gaza’s civil defence has declared that 13 out of 22 firefighting and rescue vehicles stopped working south of the enclave due to fuel shortage, according to a statement on Thursday.

The agency has warned of a total halt to their operations that benefit displaced Palestinians in the area designated as “humanitarian” by Israel in southern Gaza.

An Israeli air raid on Gaza City’s Shujaiya neighbourhood has claimed the lives of at least three Palestinians, according to local reports.

The Wafa news agency confirmed the deadly strike, which comes amid ongoing devastation in Gaza City.

Separately Israeli forces have intensified their assault on Gaza, killing seven Palestinians in a strike on a home near Beit Lahiya’s Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Overnight, an Israeli attack on a residential building left dozens dead and injured, with an entire family reportedly still buried beneath the rubble.

The Israeli army is persisting with operations in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure claiming to eliminate “any threats” in the region.

An Israeli military spokesperson, posting on the army’s Arabic X account, defended these actions as measures to protect Israeli citizens while allegedly “maintaining the terms of the ceasefire.”

Though Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a tenuous truce last week, which includes Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon within 60 days and Hezbollah’s repositioning north of the Litani River, Israeli strikes continue.

A Palestinian Authority official has commended Amnesty International for its report accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza.

Ahmad al-Deek, adviser to the Palestinian foreign minister, described Amnesty as a “credible global organisation that bases its reports on evidence” during remarks to AFP news agency.

Al-Deek emphasized that Amnesty “has clarified that it possesses evidence of Israel committing genocide,” spotlighting the organisation’s damning findings.

Israel is carrying out a genocide in the Gaza Strip, a new report by Amnesty International has concluded.

The report, titled "You Feel Like You Are Subhuman': Israel's Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza" is based on research and legal analysis carried out since October 2023 and concludes that Israel's war on the enclave is being carried out with "the specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza".

Amnesty International is arguably the highest profile rights group to conclude Israel's actions in Gaza meet the definition of genocidal acts as laid out under the Genocide Convention.

The report involved interviews with 212 people, including survivors of, and witnesses to, Israeli air strikes, victims of displacement and detention, and victims of Israel's strangulation of aid deliveries.

Speaking at a press conference in the Hague on Thursday, Amnesty's Secretary-General Agnes Callamard said that Israel was creating a "nightmare" for Palestinian in the Gaza Strip.

Cyprus has reportedly taken delivery of an Israeli air defence system, marking a significant shift as the east Mediterranean island seeks new defence suppliers after losing access to key Russian hardware.

Reuters reported that local media outlets confirmed the first deliveries took place on Tuesday. While Cypriot officials have refrained from commenting on the specifics, President Nikos Christodoulides emphasised the country's need to strengthen its deterrence capabilities, citing Cyprus’s occupation status and its strategic importance as an EU member state.

For years, Russia was a primary supplier of military equipment to Cyprus, but after the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, sanctions halted much of this relationship.

Qatar has quietly resumed its mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas, two weeks ago, according to Israeli sources that spoke to the Haaretz.

These talks are centred around an Egyptian proposal, which includes a limited two-month ceasefire, the release of Israeli captives, the release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, and the transfer of control over the Rafah border crossing to the Palestinian Authority.

Hamas is demanding a ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid shipments to Gaza in exchange for providing an up-to-date list of Israeli captives still alive.

More than 80 student and faculty groups from across the country, including pro-Palestine organisations on US campuses, are urging authorities in a letter sent on Tuesday to investigate what led the FBI to raid the home of two Gaza protest leaders last month.

Two Palestinian-American sisters who are also students at George Mason University (GMU) in Virginia had their home raided by the FBI. The house was searched for six hours and their electronic devices were seized, according to a new report by The Intercept on Tuesday.

More than a dozen police officers, as well as a member of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, arrived at the family home in Springfield, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC, in the early morning hours of 7 November and broke down the door. They forced the family to sit in the living room as the house was searched.

Officers refused to show the family a search warrant but told them the investigation concerned spray-painted graffiti on the GMU campus related to a protest against Israel's war on Gaza. At the time, the university had publicised a $2,000 reward for information on any suspects.

Amnesty International’s latest report accuses Israel of perpetrating genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The report, released Wednesday, states, "[We] found sufficient basis to conclude that Israel has committed and is continuing to commit genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip."

Amnesty argues that while some of the actions examined represent serious breaches of international law, the overall impact of Israel’s military operations and policies points to a deliberate intent to commit genocide.
