Google has been matching donations made by its employees across the world to pro-Israeli charities in the US, including one supporting Israeli soldiers who are fighting in Gaza, and a Christian Zionist group that aims to help Israel “reclaim” the West Bank.

Leaked internal webpages seen by Middle East Eye show that Google has helped facilitate donations to a non-profit organisation called Friends of the Israeli Defence Forces (FIDF) and HaYovel, an organisation that sends volunteers to work on farms in illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land.

The tech giant allows its employees to donate a percentage of their salary to causes of their choice through a corporate giving platform called Benevity, a Canadian-based company which counts some of the biggest corporations in the US among its customers.

Google then matches those donations.

The FIDF, based in New York City, is a registered not-for-profit charity supporting Israeli soldiers and veterans.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that Israeli occupation forces abducted four patients who were being transferred from the Indonesian Hospital to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

According to the ministry, a total of 10 patients were in transit when the abductions occurred. The remaining six patients, along with 10 medical staff, remain at the Indonesian Hospital under dire conditions.

The health ministry has condemned the incident, highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis as Israeli actions continue to target Gaza’s already overwhelmed healthcare system.

The family of Dr Hussam Abu Safia, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, has issued an urgent plea for his release after his abudction by Israeli forces during a raid on the hospital on Friday.

In their statement, the family emphasised the tireless efforts of Dr Abu Safia, noting his crucial role in supporting Gaza’s health system amid the ongoing conflict. "It is no secret to anyone the immense efforts Dr Hussam has made since the beginning of the war to support the only healthcare system for the residents of North Gaza, your families, friends, and loved ones," the statement read.

The family revealed that Dr Abu Safia is currently enduring severe conditions, including exposure to extreme cold. They also described horrific treatment during his arrest, with eyewitness accounts detailing how he was forced to strip off his clothes, including his medical coat, and was used as a human shield by Israeli soldiers.

Further accounts from detainees arrested by Israeli forces paint a grim picture, with reports of beatings, torture, and being left in freezing conditions for hours.

"We implore every living conscience, every international organization, and institution to act urgently," the family urged, calling for immediate intervention and justice.

Clashes have reignited in the Jenin camp in the occupied West Bank, with Israeli-backed Palestinian security forces engaging resistance fighters, according to Al Jazeera Arabic.

Earlier this month the Israeli army reportedly expressed satisfaction with a recent operation conducted by PA forces in the Jenin refugee camp, according to the Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA).

Over the past few weeks, operations under Israeli military oversight have involved approximately 300 armed PA personnel.

Israel's Central Command has recommended strengthening the PA’s security apparatus and increasing coordination.

Following this advice, the Israeli security cabinet instructed the army to bolster its collaboration with PA forces

Amnesty International has expressed "extreme concern" over the fate and wellbeing of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, who was abudcted by Israeli forces during a raid on the hospital on 27 December. The organisation is calling for his "immediate and unconditional" release.

"For months, Dr. Abu Safiya has been the voice of Gaza’s decimated health sector, appealing for the protection of his hospital and working under inhumane conditions, including after the killing of his son," Amnesty said. "The raid, the latest in a series of attacks on healthcare facilities in North Gaza over the past two months, left Kamal Adwan— the last remaining major hospital in the area— out of service."

Amnesty also highlighted the broader issue of Israeli detention practices, noting that since the onset of its military onslought in Gaza, Israel has detained hundreds of Palestinian healthcare workers without charge or trial. These workers, the organisation stated, have been subjected to torture, ill-treatment, and incommunicado detention.

"The international community, especially Israel’s allies, must act to end Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza," Amnesty concluded, demanding the immediate release of all Palestinians arbitrarily detained, including healthcare workers. Hospitals and health workers, the organisation reiterated, are not legitimate targets.

Hamas official Osama Hamdan has said that Israel is obstructing negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire and the exchange of captives.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Aqsa TV, Hamdan condemned Israel’s refusal to meet key conditions set by Hamas for halting hostilities.

"We went to the maximum flexibility regarding the prisoners," Hamdan said, emphasising that Hamas was willing to negotiate if Israel agreed to cease its aggression, withdraw fully from Gaza, and allow for reconstruction efforts without preconditions.

However, he said that Israel continuously reneges on agreements made during the negotiations, particularly on the issues of withdrawal and stopping the violence.

Hamdan also condemned Israel’s attacks on hospitals, saying that the Israeli military is attempting to eradicate Palestinian presence in the region.

He called for unity within Palestinian ranks, insisting that confronting the occupation was a national duty, not the actions of outlaws, in reference to the actions of the Palestinian Authority, which is working with Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank to fight resistance groups.

The official also sharply criticised the Palestinian Authority’s security behaviour, urging Palestinian security forces to focus their efforts on resisting the occupation, as this was the only legitimate course of action.

Disturbing videos have emerged showing Palestinian officers abusing critics of the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) ongoing crackdown on anti-Israel resistance in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.

One video shows a handcuffed and blindfolded young man being thrown into a garbage container, while security personnel assault and curse him.

Another clip depicts a detainee being slapped and beaten in the face while his head is covered with a plastic bag.

In a further disturbing video, two detainees, bound and blindfolded, are forced to face a wall with one leg raised. They are made to chant, God, President Abu Mazen," in a scene reminiscent of tactics used by the government of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The Committee of Political Prisoners’ Families in the West Bank condemned the arrest campaign, which it said targeted individuals who expressed opposition to the security campaign on social media.
