An investigation by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz has revealed that a quarter of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons have been infected with scabies in recent months.

The findings contained in the report, which cited prison officials, were the result of a petition filed by human rights organisations.

Israel's Supreme Court is set to discuss the conditions under which Palestinian prisoners are being held amidst accusations that prison administrators are not doing enough to prevent the spread of disease, provide adequate healthcare and deal with overcrowding.

Palestinians held by Israel say that their treatment is deliberate rather than the result of neglect.

One prisoner quoted by Haaretz said: “When we asked for treatment, they told us that we are terrorists and must die."

Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has said that a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon is dependent on enforcement that would keep Hezbollah disarmed and away from the border.

"The test for any agreement will be one, not in words or phrasing, but in enforcement only of the two main points. The first is preventing Hezbollah from moving southward beyond the Litani (River), and the second, preventing Hezbollah from rebuilding its force and rearming in all of Lebanon," Saar said in the Israeli parliament, in broadcast remarks.

The UK would follow due process if Benjamin Netanyahu visited the UK, Foreign Secretary David Lammy said on Monday, when asked if London would fulfil the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against the Israeli prime minister.

"We are signatories to the Rome Statute, we have always been committed to our obligations under international law and international humanitarian law," Lammy told reporters at a G7 meeting in Italy.

"Of course, if there were to be such a visit to the UK, there would be a court process and due process would be followed in relation to those issues."

The Israeli army on Monday said it had struck a Hezbollah command centre in the down town Beirut neighbourhood of Basta in a deadly air strike at the weekend.

"The IDF (Israeli military) struck a Hezbollah command centre," the army told AFP regarding the strike that the Lebanese health ministry said killed 29 people and wounded 67 on Saturday.

The strike hit a residential building in the heart of Beirut before dawn Saturday, leaving a large crater, AFP journalists at the scene reported.

A senior Lebanese security source told AFP that "a high-ranking Hezbollah officer was targeted" in the strike, without confirming whether or not the official had been killed.

Hezbollah official Amin Cherri said no leader of the Lebanese movement was targeted in Basta.

Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reject the US-backed ceasefire proposal with Lebanon, calling it a "grave mistake".

In a post on X, Ben Gvir said accepting a ceasefire would be "a historic missed opportunity to eradicate Hezbollah".

"As I warned before in Gaza, I warn now as well: Mr. Prime Minister - it is not too late to stop this agreement! We must continue until the absolute victory!"

When my family was forced to flee Jabalia last month, we had two options: die and leave our bodies under the rubble or on the road, to be torn apart by stray dogs, or survive with the constant threat of death looming over us, enduring the bitter taste of another Nakba, or catastrophe, until we die.

From that moment on, we became refugees for the second time in less than two generations. We were forced to leave behind apartments, buildings and lands that meant everything to us.

In the blink of an eye, we became nothing.

After an Israeli air strike killed Alaa al-Sheikh last year, her family buried her in a makeshift graveyard near the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza.

Access to the main cemetery had become impossible due to intensified ground and aerial attacks in the area.

Israeli troops eventually stormed the vicinity of the Indonesian hospital too, where the temporary cemetery was established.

When the family revisited the site a few weeks later, after the Israeli withdrawal, the body had disappeared.

“We wanted to move her body to the Falouja Cemetery but we were shocked to find neither the grave nor her body,” Yahya al-Sheikh, Alaa’s brother, told Middle East Eye.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that death sentences should be issued for Israeli leaders and not arrest warrants.

His remarks came after the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defence chief Yoav Gallant, and a Hamas leader, Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, commonly known as "Deif".
