Iranian media reported explosions at US military sites in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, including near Prince Sultan Air Base south of Riyadh.

The reports said the blasts may have been caused by drone and missile attacks, though there was no immediate independent confirmation.

In Kuwait, explosions were also reported near a US military headquarters after warning sirens sounded, according to the same reports.

Previous incidents in the region have involved Iranian drone and missile strikes targeting American bases amid the ongoing conflict.

Authorities in the southern Israeli city of Dimona said 485 people were evacuated after an Iranian missile strike in the area.

The mayor said the evacuations were carried out as a precaution following the attack, Israeli media reported.

Iranian state media said the strikes targeted a nuclear research facility near Dimona.

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters said it would retaliate against any attack on the country’s energy infrastructure, warning it could target US and Israeli energy and technology facilities.

The warning followed US President Donald Trump’s ultimatum that Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours or face strikes on its power plants.

Trump said the United States would “obliterate” key infrastructure if Tehran fails to comply.

The statements come amid rising tensions over threats to critical energy sites.

Israel’s military chief Eyal Zamir warned of Iran’s missile capabilities, citing a recent long-range launch toward a US base on Diego Garcia.

He said such missiles have the range to reach parts of Europe, underscoring what he described as a broader threat beyond Israel.

“Just yesterday, Iran launched a two-stage intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of 4,000 kilometres [2,500 miles] toward an American target on the island of Diego Garcia. These missiles were not intended to hit Israel. Their range reaches the capitals of Europe — Berlin, Paris, and Rome are all within direct threat range,” he said.

A senior Iranian official told Al Jazeera that Tehran was not responsible for missile attacks on Diego Garcia.

The remote base, about 4,000km from Iran, is one of two UK-controlled sites the United States has used for what it calls “defensive operations” in the war against Iran.

Following the strikes, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and military chief Eyal Zamir vowed to continue operations on “all fronts.”

Iranian state media said the strikes were aimed at a nuclear research facility near Dimona, while Israel denied involvement in a reported earlier attack on Iran’s Natanz site.
