Around 177,000 Palestinians are taking shelter in 88 schools run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
This is an increase of 40,000 people from yesterday.
Jenifer Austin, deputy director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza, told Al Jazeera English that it has turned its schools into emergency shelters for those in Gaza looking to escape Israeli bombardment.
"We've got supplies for 12 days for food and water for those people," Austin said, adding that more people will be arriving to these shelters.
