'Strong likelihood' of famine in northern Gaza, report says

There is a "strong likelihood" of a famine in northern Gaza, according to a report by the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). 

"It can therefore be assumed that starvation, malnutrition and excess mortality due to malnutrition and disease, are rapidly increasing in these areas," the report said. "Famine thresholds may have already been crossed".
