Houthi spokesman says group launched hypersonic missile at Negev air base

A spokesman for the armed forces of the Houthi movement in Yemen said on Saturday that the group had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting the Negev air base in southern Israel.

The Houthi movement, known officially as Ansar Allah, said that the attack "successfully hit its target". The missile was named "Palestine 2".

On Friday night, Israel's military said that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it reached Israeli territory. It is unclear if this was the same attack announced by the Yemeni group on Saturday.
