Israel strikes southern Gaza: Report

Israel's military said an air strike on Friday targeted two "suspects" approaching troops in southern Gaza, as a hospital received the body of one person killed.

"Two suspects who were identified in proximity to (Israeli) troops and posed a threat to them were struck by an (air force) aircraft in southern Gaza in order to remove the threat," the army told AFP, adding that "hits were identified".

Nasser hospital, located in the southern city of Khan Younis, told AFP in a statement that it had received the body of a Palestinian killed in a strike on Friday.

"Ambulance crews in Rafah recovered a martyr after he was targeted in an air strike by (Israel) west of Rafah city", the hospital said.
