Labour MP urges UK ministers to step in after Israeli minister shared secretly filmed conversation online

A senior Labour MP has called upon British ministers to take action after an Israeli minister secretly filmed their private conversation and shared it online.
Emily Thornberry, who is the chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, said she was videoed without “knowledge or consent” while she was paying a visit to the Israeli Knesset. She said the video was later posted on Instagram by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel.
She requested that the Foreign Office investigate the issue, ask for the video to be taken down, and for an apology from the Israeli side.
Thornberry asked for ministerial intervention as the Middle East minister, Hamish Falconer, answered her committee’s questions in the UK parliament.
