Live Blog Update| Israel's genocide in Gaza

Morning update

Good morning Middle East Eye readers.

Here are the key developments overnight:

  • Benjamin Netanyahu met with an Israeli delegation returning from Qatar and ordered them to prepare for ceasefire negotiations based on the US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff's proposal. Witkoff suggested extending the ceasefire for 60 days in exchange for Hamas releasing 10 Israeli captives.
  • Israeli tanks opened fire on Palestinians east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
  • UK-registered charity Al-Khair Foundation said an Israeli air strike on Gaza's Beit Lahia killed eight of its aid workers. At least nine people, including three photographers, were killed, according to local media.
  • The Israeli military arrested eight Palestinians in raids in towns across the occupied West Bank.
