Netanyahu added 400km to US journey as he believed Ireland, Iceland and Netherlands would arrest him

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added 400km to a flight to the US to avoid being arrested over an outstanding International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant.

Netanyahu avoided the airspace of Ireland, Iceland and the Netherlands as Israeli officials believe the countries would enforce the ICC warrant.

He arrived in Washington DC on Sunday night for a series of swiftly arranged meetings with US President Donald Trump and senior US officials.
