Former Klan 'grand wizard' thanks Assange for helping Trump take White House

A former 'grand wizard' of the white supremicist Klu Klux Klan movement has offered effusive thanks to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange for helping to deliver the White House to Donald Trump.

Wikileaks published thousands of leaked emails sent by Hillary Clinton, Trump's opponent, while she was US Secretary of State, which were seized on by Trump and his supporters to accuse Clinton of criminal conduct.

The FBI has said it has found no evidence to prosecute Clinton, but the saga derailed the final weeks of her campaign.

"GOD BLESS WIKILEAKS - Julian Assange is a hero -> America owes this man one thing -> FREEDOM!!!," tweeted David Dukes, the founder of the the founder of the Knights of the KKK.

Dukes also tweeted an image of Trump astride an M1 Abrams tank and holding a high-powered rifle.
