David Tonge is a writer and scholar at Magdalene College, University of Cambridge. He has reported for the BBC, the Guardian and Observer and was the diplomatic correspondent at the Financial Times. Tonge has authored two books, The Kremlin’s Confidant and The Enduring Hold of Islam in Turkey.
