A range of Israeli supermarket chains are halting imports from Turkey for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's comments on the ongoing war, according to Haaretz.

Erdogan has repeatedly denounced Israel’s targeting of civilians since the start of the war on 7 October, and also said that Hamas was not a terrorist organisation, but rather a liberation organisation.

The companies include Israel's largest supermarket chain, Shufersal, as well as competitors Rami Levy and Yochananof. Smaller importers have followed suit.

In recent years, Turkey has become a key exporter to Israel. Last year it ranked number five after China, the United States, Switzerland, and Germany.

Egypt has condemned Israel’s bombing of the Jabalia camp in Gaza, in a statement published on Tuesday.

"Egypt strongly condemns the inhumane Israeli attack on the residential quarter of the Jabaliya refugee camp… This is a blatant violation of international law by the Israeli army," the statement read.

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry also stated that they see Israel as responsible for the escalation.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community "to act against Israel in order to restrain it and prevent it from continuing its crimes against civilians.”

Hamas' armed wing denied that Israel rescued a soldier in their custody in Gaza.

Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades, said several Israelis were being held by various groups and individuals across Gaza. He said no one held by Hamas has been rescued by Israeli forces.

He reiterated that the group will soon release dual nationals in its custody, saying they never intended to keep them.

Addressing military developments, Abu Ubaida confirmed that clashes between Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces are taking place in three locations in Gaza, mostly in open farmlands in northwest, northeast and eastern Gaza where Israeli tanks carried out limited incursions.

He claimed 22 Israeli military armoured vehicles had been destroyed, killing and wounding a "large number" of soldiers. Israel confirmed two troops were killed and two others wounded earlier today in Gaza.

Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said that Israel is deploying forces "on a large scale, deep in the Strip" on Tuesday.

"There are battles against the forces that are operating [in Gaza] and the results and achievements on the battlefield are very high. Unfortunately, in war, there are also prices, and the prices in the last day were heavy prices. Despite that, we are also determined to continue and win," he added.

Earlier today, the Israeli military announced that two soldiers were killed in Gaza and two were seriously wounded in the heavy bombing of the besieged enclave.

Atef al Kahlout, the manager of Gaza’s Indonesian Hospital in north Gaza, says it will close down “in 48 hours” if it does not receive emergency help in the form of water and fuel.

“The hospital has no water left, even salty water, there is nothing,” he said in a televised interview on Tuesday.

“If the hospital stops functioning, this will make it a catastrophe in every essence of the word. The bombing today in close proximity to the hospital has caused it to shake,” he added.

“We have a lack of all necessary tools and medicines, especially in the emergency department. We have just had 400 wounded people come in, most of them children and women. Many of them have wounds we have not seen before, we are not sure if Israel is using new weapons we have not seen before.”

The Director General of the New York office of the United Nations High Commissioner of Human rights has resigned over the “text-book case of genocide,” unfolding in Gaza.

In a letter dated 28 October, Craig Mokhiber, states that he is writing “at a moment of great anguish,” as the world sees “a genocide unfolding before our eyes.” The general also said that the organisation appears “powerless to stop it.”

“The current wholesale slaughter of the Palestinian people, rooted in ethno-nationalist settler colonial ideology, in continuation of decades of their systematic persecution and purging, based entirely upon their status as Arabs, and coupled with explicitly statements of intent by leaders in the Israeli government and military, leaves no room for doubt or debate,” the statement read.

“No words can describe the grief for 63 of our colleagues killed in Gaza since 7 October,” the organisation said on Monday.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) said that Gaza has become “a graveyard for children,” on Tuesday, following intensive Israeli bombing.

“Our gravest fears about the reported numbers of children killed becoming dozens, then hundreds, and ultimately thousands were realised in just a fortnight. The numbers are appalling; reportedly more than 3,450 children killed; staggeringly this rises significantly every day,” the organisation said in a statement.

“Gaza has become a graveyard for thousands of children. It’s a living hell for everyone else,” the statement added.
