Katz: Military instructed to accelerate demolition of Lebanese homes in 'frontline villages'

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that the military has been instructed to accelerate the demolition of Lebanese homes in "frontline villages".

In a statement, Katz added that the army had also been instructed to immediately destroy all bridges crossing southern Lebanon's Litani River, which he said were used for "terrorist activity".

The Israeli military issued a statement warning it planned to target the Qassamiya Bridge to prevent the movement of fighters and weapons, instructing civilians to move north of Zahrani River.

The destruction of the bridge - which is a strategic crossing over the Litani River - would sever parts of southern Lebanon from the rest of the country.
