Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday said that it is crucial that Muslim nations play a leading role in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

“It seems that Hamas is quite determined to adhere to the [ceasefire] agreement,” he said, adding that it was “essential” that the Organisation of Islamic Conference “play a leading role in the reconstruction of Gaza”.

Foreign ministers from eight nations are meeting in Istanbul on Monday to discuss the implementation of the Gaza "peace plan". The meeting brings together top diplomats from Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan and Indonesia.

Talks are expected to centre on the 10 October ceasefire and the second phase of Trump’s proposed 20-point peace plan.

Israel has committed 194 violations since the ceasefire agreement came into effect, the director of the government media office in Gaza said.

Knesset's National Security Committee approved a bill that would allow the execution of Palestinian prisoners, local media reported. The committee referred the bill to the Knesset General Assembly for discussion and voting in the upcoming legislative session, reports said.

Times of Israel reported that the legislation stipulates that courts will be able to impose the death penalty on those who have "committed a nationalistically motivated murder" of a citizen of Israel. It would not apply to an Israeli who killed a Palestinian.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his support of the bill, adding that "judges should not be allowed to express an opinion on this law".

On Friday, Ben Gvir posted a video of himself standing over a row of Palestinian prisoners lying prone with their hands tied, in which he calls for the “death penalty for terrorists”.

In footage shared on his personal Telegram channel, Ben Gvir speaks to the camera while pointing at a dozen detainees face down in front of an Israeli flag.

“These guys, the Nukhba who came to kill children, women, our babies. Look at them today,” the far-right minister says, referring to the special forces unit of Hamas's military wing.

“But there's still something that must be done: death penalty for the terrorists.”

A pro-Israel woman wearing a Jewish Defence League sweater was arrested in Toronto, Canada after attempting to launch a chemical attack on pro-Palestine protesters using a bottle of reagent-grade ammonium hydroxide, a highly concentrated, toxic laboratory chemical capable of causing severe burns and lung damage.

Footage shows her shaking the bottle, opening the cap, and threatening the crowd before police stepped in.

She was heard shouting excuses about owning a janitorial company, as officers replied: “You weren’t engaged in cleaning when you opened it.”

Fire crews later confirmed the chemical was lab-grade ammonium hydroxide. Police issued a statement saying a “female was arrested on scene for assault with a weapon and uttering threats”.

Critics say the incident reflects the growing extremism among pro-Israel groups, who have increasingly turned to intimidation and violence against demonstrators supporting Palestine, and calling out Israel's genocide.

Talks are expected to centre on the 10 October ceasefire and the second phase of Trump’s proposed 20-point peace plan.

The plan calls for Hamas to be disarmed and excluded from Gaza’s future governance, and for the deployment of an international stabilisation force.

Members of the Israeli parliament's Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee were reportedly told during a briefing that the international force will be made up of soldiers from Indonesia, Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

Following Israeli military movements near the border, the Lebanese army mobilised its forces in the border town of Meiss El-Jabal in southern Lebanon, local media said.

Israeli army forces were placed on alert inside the occupied territories next to Meiss El-Jabal, prompting the Lebanese army to mobilise and deploy vehicles and troops in the area, according to the Lebanese state news agency NNA.

The development comes after Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Thursday instructed the army to confront any Israeli military incursions into southern Lebanon.

His directive followed an Israeli raid that killed a municipal employee inside the Blida municipality building in the south.

On Sunday, an Israeli drone launched three missiles near the Zefta–Nmeiriyeh junction in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon.

Israel continues to violate its ceasefire with Hezbollah, carrying out relentless attacks across southern Lebanon.

Dozens of people, including medics, journalists, and civilians, have been killed in Israeli strikes since the truce was agreed last November.

Despite its claims of “self-defence,” Israel’s repeated bombardments have drawn growing condemnation for fuelling instability and targeting non-combatants.

The deceased have been identified as American-Israeli Captain Omer Neutra, Corporal Oz Daniel, and Colonel Assaf Hamami.

US President Donald Trump’s administration has presented a proposal to potential Gulf donor countries to rebuild "New Gaza" on the eastern side of the strip, which is under Israeli control, Times of Israel reported

The report quotes two Arab diplomats familiar with the matter as having said that “new Gaza” is the term frequently used by US officials to describe the project that will take place on the eastern side of the Yellow Line.

Yellow Line is the the newly created boundary to which the Israeli forces withdrew on 10 October at the start of the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

The partial withdrawal left Israel in control of roughly 53 percent of Gaza.

US President Donald Trump on Monday said that the ceasefire in Gaza is not fragile and that he would intervene to help Netanyahu, who he said was not being treated well in Israel.

"The ceasefire agreement in Gaza is not fragile, but very solid. I would force Hamas to disarm very quickly if I wanted to, and it would be eliminated," Trump said in an interview with CBS 60 Minutes.

"Netanyahu is the person Israel needed in times of war," he said.

He added, "I don't think they treat him very well. He's under trial for some things, and... I think it should – you know, we'll – we'll be involved to help him out a little bit, because I think it's very unfair."
