Live: Over 200 Lebanese children killed in two months of Israeli attacks

At least two people were killed by Israel's attack on Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank and two were wounded, according to Wafa news agency. 

The victims were Mamoun Saleh Shraim, 38, and Thaer Omar Amara, also 38. 

According to Wafa, their bodies were taken by the Israeli army. 

Israel launched fresh strikes on the Lebanon-Syria border, saying that it was targeting Hezbollah transit routes. 

The attacks follow strikes earlier in the day in the Syrian city of Homs. 

Israel has requested that International Criminal Court Judge Beti Hohler prove her “impartiality” in adjudicating Israel’s legal challenges at the ICC.

Israel has asked whether Hohler previously worked on an investigation into the “situation in Palestine”.

Israel claims that Hohler previously worked in the office of the ICC chief prosecutor who requested arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, among other Israeli and Hamas officials.

Israeli soldiers besieged a Palestinian house in the Ezbet al-Jarad suburb in the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm, according to Wafa news. 

Amid the raid, additional military reinforcements were dispatched to the vicinity of the house and drones were deployed overhead. 

At least seven Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes across Gaza, according to Arabic media reports.

A strike on the centre of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza has killed at least five people.

Meanwhile, at least two people were killed by an Israeli strike on a tent near Nuseirat camp, in central Gaza. 

US President-elect Donald Trump said he and President Joe Biden "talked very much about the Middle East" at their White House meeting on Wednesday, according to The New York Post.

"I wanted to know his views on where we are and what he thinks. And he gave them to me. He was very gracious," Trump said. 

Israel is launching fresh strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency. 

The strikes hit the Burj al-Barajneh and Haret Hreik neighbourhoods. 

Israel's hostages and missing persons envoy Major General Nitzan Alon said that "time is running out" to save the remaining hostages in Gaza.

"Winter is approaching, and the conditions of the hostages are deteriorating," Alon said.

Alon said "this should be the sense of everyone involved in the matter, both in the security and political levels, as it is the political echelon that makes the decisions".

He added that "Hamas is being struck everywhere, the IDF's achievements are creating an opportunity for a deal, and this opportunity is a matter of what is done with it".

Israel wants to maintain the ability to strike Lebanon at any moment, as part of conditions to secure a ceasefire with Hezbollah, France's foreign minister said on Wednesday.

Speaking to a parliamentary hearing after holding talks in Israel last week in Jerusalem, Jean-Noel Barrot said it was a condition increasingly voiced among Israeli officials.

"Today we hear in Israel voices calling for it to keep a capacity to strike at any moment or even enter Lebanon, as is the case with its neighbour Syria," Barrot said.

Barrot held talks last week with Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer and new Defence Minister Israel Katz.

"That is not compatible with the sovereignty of a strong country," he added.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for countries to stop sending arms to Israel, after Turkey announced it was breaking diplomatic ties with Israel. 

“As long as arms shipments continue, Israel will be more aggressive, as every day that Israel is not stopped, the situation in Palestine and Lebanon worsens,” Erdogan said.

“Trade restrictions and sanctions on Israel are another form of struggle. Active diplomacy to corner Israel in all areas and boost diplomatic pressure is also crucial. We’re in the middle of a great test of humanity. Passing this test is only possible by being part of the humanitarian alliance," he said. 

“History will judge both those who stood by Israel and those who remained silent in the face of oppression.”

Six Israeli soldiers were killed fighting in southern Lebanon, Israel's military said on Wednesday. 

The death toll comes amid heavy fighting in southern Lebanon, with Hezbollah claiming rocket attacks on Israeli troops in Maroun al-Ras village. 

The United Nations relief and works agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) described on Wednesday the devastation Israel's strikes have imposed on the agency.

"At least 243 Unrwa personnel have been killed, others have been detained and report being tortured. More than two-thirds of Unrwa premises have been damaged or destroyed," UN chief Philippe Lazzarini said.

He said that Unrwa's collapse would threaten the stability of the region.

Israel launched strikes on the southern countryside of Homs province in central Syria, according to Syria's state media. 

Israel says it conducting strikes to prevent the transfer of weapons and supplies from Iran to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Syrian media said that air defences intercepted "hostile" targets around Homs. 

An Israeli drone strike targeted a tent sheltering displaced people near Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to Arabic media reports. 

The attack injured several people. 

Hezbollah says it targeted the headquarters of a military intelligence base near Tel Aviv with missiles. 

"We targeted the Glilot base, headquarters of the 8200 military intelligence unit in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, with a barrage of qualitative missiles," Hezbollah said in a statement.
