Cyprus says seeking UK guarantees that bases be used solely for humanitarian purposes

Cyprus said on Monday it would seek guarantees that British bases on the island would not be used for anything other than humanitarian purposes, following drone threats.

Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis told reporters that Cyprus would seek explicit guarantees that the bases "under no circumstances would be used for any purpose other than humanitarian".
