Israel kills eight in Gaza as families forced to flee homes
Israeli forces killed eight Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Thursday as they issued fresh expulsion orders in several areas, according to local reports.
A woman and a child were killed in strikes on two houses in the Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City, minutes after residents were told to leave.
One resident said he received a call from an Israeli officer ordering people to evacuate.
Panic ensued as families rushed to flee, but not everyone managed to escape before the bombing, according to the Anadolu news agency.
Elsewhere in Gaza City, Israeli forces ordered residents in the Old City, in the east, to evacuate ahead of further strikes.

In southern Gaza, Israeli forces also issued evacuation orders for two areas after bombing them.
An Israeli soldier shot and killed a Palestinian in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza. Two more people were killed when a car was bombed near the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza City.
The latest strikes and forced displacement come a day before the first anniversary of a ceasefire announced to end Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, launched in October 2023 after the Hamas-led attack in southern Israel.
Israel has since violated the ceasefire almost daily, continuing its bombardment and restricting aid deliveries.
Israeli forces have killed at least 1,470 Palestinians and wounded more than 5,000 since the ceasefire, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
At least 300 children are among those killed.
Overall, Israeli forces have killed more than 74,250 Palestinians since 7 October 2023 and wounded more than 175,000, according to the ministry. At least 8,000 more people are missing and presumed dead beneath the rubble.
Renewed claims against hospitals
Earlier this week, the Palestinian health ministry warned against what it described as the recycling of misleading Israeli claims about hospitals in Gaza.
In recent days, the Israeli military has renewed allegations that Hamas uses hospitals and ambulances for military purposes.
The military provided no evidence to substantiate the claims. Similar allegations have been repeatedly made over the past three years, often ahead of attacks on hospitals across Gaza.
The health ministry rejected the allegations, warning that the renewed rhetoric could be used to justify further attacks and destroy what remains of the territory’s healthcare system.
'We call on the international community ... to rein in the Israeli machinery of destruction'

“Recycling these claims at this particular time is nothing more than an overt attempt to manufacture media cover and baseless justifications for the Israeli war machine, paving the way for further dismantling what remains of the healthcare system,” the ministry said in a statement.
It added that all hospitals remained open to independent international organisations, including United Nations agencies, to inspect their operations and verify the claims.
“We call on the international community, United Nations institutions, human rights organisations, and all free people around the world to intervene urgently and immediately to rein in the Israeli machinery of destruction,” the ministry said.
The Israeli military repeatedly and systematically attacked hospitals across Gaza during the genocide.
More than 94 percent of Gaza’s hospitals have been damaged or destroyed, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Israeli forces have also killed more than 1,700 healthcare workers as of September 2025.
