Adlène Meddi is an Algerian journalist and writer based in Algiers, where he has covered and analysed Algerian political, social, cultural and economic news for over 20 years. Former editor-in-chief of El Watan Week-end in Algiers and a contributor to the French magazine Le Point, he co-authored “Jours Tranquilles à Alger” (Quiet Days in Algiers, Riveneuve, 2016) with Mélanie Matarese and has written three political thrillers set in Algeria, including his latest, “1994” (winner of the Best French-Language Crime Novel Award in 2018). His most recent publications include “Dictionnaire des services secrets algériens” (Dictionary of Algerian Secret Services) and “DZ Mafia: Le guide complet pour (enfin) tout comprendre” (DZ Mafia: The Complete Guide to (Finally) Understand Everything) (M&M Éditions, 2026).
